Warriors Romp Over First Year Crusaders
April 28, 2024 Greg Ricupero
Saturday I covered my first GEFA game of the season against the first place team in the Valley Conference, the Wilkes-Barre Warriors (3-2) and the last place team in the Mountain Conference, the Indiana County Crusaders (0-4).
I planned on getting there early and doing some interviews, however the local track meet had a two and a half hour rain delay. Hopefully in the next few weeks. Probably many of you didn't know Indiana have a team in the Great Eastern Football Association. It's eight man football on a fifty-yard field. Like many new teams the Crusaders are going through some growing pains.
Today they lost 78-0. Two weeks ago they loss by five. It is to be expected. Indiana was down 50-0 at the half but never gave up. A lot of the players are local men (former high school players) who I hope to interview in the future. The age and skill levels of the players varies quite a bite. The Crusaders have six games left in the season including three at home.
They play winless Berks County at home in two weeks.
