Under the Lights, Instant GEFA League Classic

June 5, 2023 Billy Splain

Phillipsburg - The MOVA Vikings Won an absolute instant GEFA league classic yesterday 36-32 over the Mifflin County Tomahawks. In a back and forth high scoring affair the Vikings held on with a clutch Sean Steave interception in the final seconds to seal the game. Well there's no other way to put it for the Vikings offense it was the Dane Bright show all night, scorching the defense to the tune of over 100 yards receiving and 3 long clutch TDs.

When I asked unquestioned defensive captain and league leader in tackles Zach Hoy what he thought of the game he had this to say: "I thought coming together as a team was crucial in the second half, and I’m excited my teammates were up for the challenge. Those are the games that prepare you for the postseason and I’m excited to see how we can build on it throughout the playoffs." When Antawane “A1” Davis the, Vikings quarterback, was asked he said “We Bend but don’t break. Every game won’t be a blowout and everything doesn’t always go your way. But as long as you keep fighting and everyone comes together.. Anything is possible. VIKINGS on 3 FAMILY ON 6."

And lastly head coach Thor Marlow said, "Our match ups with Our conference rival is always an exciting game. At halftime we were down 10 points but knew we had them where we wanted them. We came out from halftime as one unit and were able to dominate the second half. Now it's playoff time and that's where our season really begins."

The Tomahawks played an extremely good game all around with their QB really letting the ball fly and doing most of their work through the air. The teams have a rematch coming next week in round 1 of the GEFA playoffs, in Phillipsburg.

Personally I know everyone is excited for this one from both sides.
